The composer, choirmaster and pianist Roman Pallas studied piano at the Conservatory in Teplice (with Hana Turkova, 1993 - 1999), from 1997 he also studied composition with Vaclav Buzek. From 1999 until 2004 he studied composition with Ivana Loudova at the Faculty of Music of Academy of Perfomring Arts in Prague (MgA.). Since 1997 he works as a choirmaster of girl's choir Puellae cantantes in Litomerice. The choir is focused on performing of contemporary Czech choral music including the new works composed by himself and by young Czech composers, his fellows (Horinka, Nejtek, Ivanovic). As pianist he devotes himself largely to the interpretation of contemporary music. He composed numerous chamber, vocal and orchestral works. Within the framework of the young composers' group Konvergence he has participated in their performances of chamber and solo music pieces (especially in the highly praised performance of 'Macrocosmos II' by G. Crumb). As a singing coach he collaborated with soprano Kristina Valouskova, baritone Tomas Krejci and violinist Slavomir Horinka. Pallas also devotes himself to perfoming the vocal works of 20th century (together with baritone Petr Matuszek and soprano Marketa Dvorakova (Kabelac, Vostrak, Jezek, Vomacka, Graham, Ullmann). Until recently he has often been commissioned by the Chamber Orchestra Berg (they premiered his compositions Serenade, Overture, Benet, Welcome Waltz).
