The composer Petr Hanzlík began piano lessons at the age of five (1973 - 1981, People\'s School of Art), then he studied at the Secondary Technical School of Chemistry in Prague (1982 - 1986). From 1988 to 1991 he studied at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague (not completed), in his musical education continued in the years 1997 to 2002 at the Conservatory of Jaroslav Jezek (majoring in compositional class of prof. Vit Clar, graduate work Missa Prima). Since 2002 (till 2009) he studied composition also privately with Vit Clar.
Petr Hanzlik composes especially chamber music, mostly vocal-instrumental compositions and choirs, as well as incidental music. Alongside composing his other significant activities include singing in the field of classical jazz (as a swing singer, the leader of the vocal quartet The Swings), and he is succesful as a record producer, arranger, editor, music director, etc. Rich is his collaboration with entertaining industry, record labels, radio, television, film and theater. He is the artistic leader of the Blue Season Art Agency. Furthermore he is the chairman of the civic association Setkani s hudbou (Meeting with Music) which include an organizing of annual performer\'s workshop in Soběslav. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Pritomnost, the Association for Contemporary Music in Prague, and a member of the Committee for popular music, jazz and other genres in the Czech Music Foundation.
